With its densely forested valleys, green mountain peaks and cascading streams, the Tambourine National Park is one of the most breathtaking places to hike, picnic and bird watch in Queensland. Here are just three of the most popular walking circuits through the park for you to discover during your Gold Coast getaway.

Sandy Creek Circuit
Regarded as an easier track, this is a circuit of approximately 2.6km that stretches out across scenic open forest and dense green rainforest. Enjoy a relaxing picnic in the tranquil picnic area near the beginning of the circuit and follow the branch track to take in the spectacular views at Cameron Falls Lookout.

Cedar Creek Falls track
This stroller and wheelchair friendly track leads to a breathtaking rainforest lookout where you can soak up uninterrupted views of tumbling waterfalls, crystal clear rocks pools and cascading mountain streams. Take some time out in the grassy picnic area overlooked by tall eucalyptus trees.

Witches Falls Circuit
Challenge yourself to an invigorating hike on the Witches Falls Circuit that weaves down the steep, rainforest clad mountainside. The trail is lined by tall palm groves and towering strangler figs. When you have completed the hike, settle down for a barbecue at the fabulous picnic spot in the heart of the eucalyptus forest.
